Childcare
Hour Little Playhouse Cares Foundation provides affordable childcare services and resources to families in the community under it's sister program Hour Little Playhouse Childcare. Hour Little Playhouse is a minority owned licensed child day center located in Richmond's East Henrico. For over 10 years, Hour Little Playhouse Childcare has been a community stable in providing exceptional early learning education to children ages 12 months-5 years old. Hour Little Playhouse provides a safe and supportive environment that promotes discovery and growth in young children. In collaboration with families and community partners, together we help each child achieve kindergarten readiness.

Out of School Enrichment Programs
At Hour Little Playhouse Cares Foundation, we provide a variety of out-of-school enrichment programs that teaches life skills, promotes academics, and empower young people to shape a stronger and more connected community.
​
Our vision is to cultivate the youth in a safe and structured environment by teaching them life skills, crime prevention, social and emotional intelligence, foster academic growth, and leadership all through our enrichment programs.

Sense of Community- Emphasizing the importance of having a community by way teaching teamwork, respect, kindness, and caring for one another and areas throughout the community.

Leading Healthier Lifestyles-Encouraging healthier lifestyle choices including nutrition and physical activity.

Social & Emotional Intelligence-Equipping the youth with the necessary tools to help manage emotions effectively and promoting self-awareness.

Learning Sports and Goal Setting- Providing opportunities for learning and developing skillsets, sportsmanship, teamwork, an appreciation for physical activity and sports, along with exploring interests in math, science, and the arts to inspire curiosity and ambition for professional pathways.
After School
After school pick up and care is provided to area youth ages 4 years through 12 years attending various East Henrico County Public Schools. The following services are provided in after school:

Summer Enrichment
With help from our community partners and leaders, our summer program is packed with 11 weeks of fun, learning, and exploration. Each summer, our youth get to explore various activities and experiences from cooking lessons, to swimming lessons, to physical fitness, STEM and more. We encourage learning and exploration beyond school time to provide our youth with structured lessons and activities in effort to introduce them to positive and creative outlets through sports, art, science, and technology. The following programs are included with our summer enrichment program:

Motivational Mondays- Career and Entrepreneur pathways are explored by way of presentations from various community partners in their career field or entrepreneurship journey

Trip Tuesdays-Field trips to various offsite locations to explore the community where we live

Wellness Wednesdays- Health, mindfulness, nutrition, yoga, and physical fitness is introduced to promote the importance of healthy lifestyle choices

Think It/Try It Thursdays-Our lessons incorporates various STEM activities to encourage youth to think outside of the box and have fun learning

Young Gardeners- Teaches youth the importance of caring for living plants, making healthy nutrition options, and showing the connection of how our growth and development is similar to that of a seed to a plant.

On The Court, Not In The Court-Youth learn and develop skillsets in the game of basketball as a fun and productive outlet to life choices in effort to reduce crime and youth from entering the juvenile court system.
